After It’s a Long Way to Happiness, his critically acclaimed debut album that has racked up twenty million streams, the Classical Garden EP (a tribute to the classical musicians who inspired him), the writing and recording of his first soundtrack (for French director Guillaume Gouix’s film Amore Mio) and live performances at The London Jazz Festival, Womad UK, les Nuits de Fourvières, The Botanique as well as opening slots for Woodkid or Kings of Convenience, pianist and composer Alban Claudin unveils Resilience, the first single from his upcoming second album Room of Reflection.
If those familiar with Alban Claudin’s work will recognize his pop melodic signature from the very first bars of the track, there is no doubt that the catchy piano licks of Resilience will seduce many newcomers and invite them to listen to it over and over again.
Faithful to his will to associate strong images with his music (as evidenced by the videos of his first album), Alban Claudin has called on the talented director Mila Gantelmi d’Ille for the video of Resilience.
“I imagined Room of Reflection as a breath of oxygen that we all need at the moment in such an oppressive world. I thought of each track as an emotion and the whole album as a call to the imagination, to dreams, to escape, to well-being but also to concentration. To capture and transmit these emotions, I travelled for several weeks in the middle of nature in different regions of France before settling down to compose, in an empty location, with a piano as my only companion”
